UNIT 5 & 6 & 7 - Immigration and ' The Container '
At the moment , Rob is away due to illness and so we have a new teacher called Sheena. We have been looking at creating a devised piece based on immigration. The piece doesn't have to be very serious and we wanted it to be different from our ' identity ' piece, we have been working on doing this by looking at different stories surrounding immigration and thinking about how we can use the stories we found to develop characters and a piece of drama from them. We have been thinking and talking about the different aspects of immigration and different scenarios that could arise. In the first lesson we had with Rebecca, before Sheena, we watched a clip from a sitcom called ' come fly with me ' which is about the running of an airport and an over zealous and dumb border controls officer who is comically blocking entry to the boarder to a polish man. making fun of right- wing points of view and saying things like ' all immigrants are smelly ' etc. This...
